trauma surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, facial reconstruction, and
advanced surgical disciplines.
Dr. Khan grew up in
Toronto, Canada, where he developed an early interest in science
and medicine. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from
the University of Kentucky, followed by his medical degree from
the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his
residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the
nation’s premier Level I trauma centers, where he received
extensive exposure to high-acuity facial trauma and emergency
surgical care.
During residency, Dr. Khan developed
advanced expertise in the management of complex maxillofacial
trauma, including facial fractures, soft-tissue injuries, and
emergency conditions involving the jaws and facial skeleton. His
training placed a strong emphasis on dentoalveolar surgery, with
high-volume experience in dental extractions, management of
odontogenic pathology, implant-related surgery, and trauma-related
reconstruction of the maxillofacial complex.
Since
entering private practice in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Khan has
brought this advanced surgical skill set to his community and
referring colleagues. His clinical focus remains centered on oral
and maxillofacial surgery, with particular expertise in
dentoalveolar procedures, facial trauma, and reconstructive
surgery of the jaws and facial skeleton. He is frequently
consulted for complex cases requiring advanced surgical judgment
and multidisciplinary coordination.
In 2011, Dr. Khan
completed both a Master’s Degree in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery
and an accredited fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery, recognized by
the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). This formal
training further expanded his surgical breadth and reinforced a
comprehensive understanding of facial and body surgery within an
evidence-based, academically structured framework.
Alongside
his clinical practice, Dr. Khan maintains a strong commitment to
academic medicine and surgical education. He is widely respected
internationally for his contributions to the field and continues
to balance an active clinical practice with ongoing academic
involvement. He has co-edited two surgical textbooks, authored
numerous book chapters, and contributed to the academic literature
in oral and maxillofacial and surgical disciplines. He has served
as faculty for live surgical workshops, participated in
professional education initiatives, and lectured nationally and
internationally on topics including facial trauma management,
dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial reconstruction, and surgical
outcomes.
Through his work in Atlanta, Dr. Khan
continues to integrate rigorous trauma training, academic
scholarship, and hands-on clinical experience. His practice
